Pricing

Your online store: what’s included

A clear starting price, shown excluding VAT, with no unpleasant surprises: here’s what the store includes, and what to budget for separately.

What to budget for, in full transparency

  • What affects the price

The number of products and variants to add, the features you need, and the content to prepare. The exact price is set in the quote.

  • Payment fees

The provider that processes your payments charges a fee on transactions, depending on its pricing. This fee isn’t part of the price of the store.

  • After the first year

Hosting and the domain name renew every year to keep your store online. The renewal rate is stated in the quote.

  • Maintenance, strongly recommended

A store handles orders and customer data: it needs to stay up to date and backed up. €50 excl. VAT per hour, or a €500 excl. VAT annual plan.

Starting prices excl. VAT. Billed through Productions Associées asbl (VAT BE 0896.755.397), by bank transfer upon invoice. See all pricing

Solutions

Custom-coded, WooCommerce, or PrestaShop: which solution is right for your store?

I prefer a custom-coded store. WooCommerce and PrestaShop, two widely used open-source platforms with no license fees that can be extended with modules or plugins (free or paid), are still good alternatives for a standard catalog. The right choice depends on your catalog and the way you work.

Payment and shipping

Online payment and shipping: what your customers expect

A customer who can’t find their payment method, or who discovers shipping costs too late, often abandons their cart. Both need to be planned from the start.

Online payment, with Bancontact

Bancontact is the payment card most Belgians use: for a store that targets Belgium, it’s a must.

  • Bancontact, Visa, and Mastercard, plus other payment methods depending on the provider you choose
  • Payments processed by a specialized provider connected to your store: your customers’ payment details aren’t stored on your site
  • Provider chosen together, based on the payment methods you want and its fees; the account is opened in your company’s name
  • Bank transfer or payment on pickup available, if you want

Shipping and pickup

Clear shipping costs, shown before payment, and options suited to your products and your customers.

  • Shipping rates by zone (Belgium, neighboring countries…), by weight or by order total
  • Free shipping above a set amount, if you want
  • Pickup at your store or workshop
  • Shipping with bpost or the carrier of your choice; connecting a shipping tool (labels, tracking) is possible depending on the solution chosen, priced on quote
  • Automatic emails to the customer at the main stages of their order

Day-to-day management

Catalog, inventory, and orders: you manage everything yourself

You run your store from its dashboard. Training on how to manage your store is included, to help you with these day-to-day tasks.

  • Catalog

Add your products with their photos, descriptions, prices, and variants (sizes, colors…), organized by category. An existing catalog can be imported from a CSV file.

  • Inventory

Stock updates with every order. A sold-out product can be flagged or hidden, and you can get an alert when stock runs low.

  • Orders

Track every order, change its status (paid, shipped…), handle refunds, and look up each customer’s history.

  • Sales

Promo codes, promotions, and sales statistics: everything you need to bring your store to life and track what works.

Would you rather delegate technical updates, backups, and small improvements? Website maintenance takes care of it, at €50 excl. VAT per hour or €500 excl. VAT per year.

Legal framework

Selling online to consumers comes with specific rules, drawn from the Belgian Code of Economic Law and EU law. Here are the essentials, so you can prepare your project with peace of mind.

Inform your customers clearly

  • your identity: name or company name, physical address, email address, Belgian enterprise number (CBE), and VAT number, easy to find on the site
  • the main characteristics of your products
  • prices including VAT for consumers, and shipping costs shown before the order is placed
  • the accepted payment methods and delivery times

Terms of sale and the ordering process

  • accessible terms and conditions of sale that customers accept before paying
  • an order button that clearly states the obligation to pay, for example “Order and pay”
  • order confirmation on a durable medium, in practice an email

Right of withdrawal and warranty

Consumers generally have 14 days to cancel their purchase, without having to give a reason. You must inform them of this right and provide a withdrawal form. There are exceptions, for example for personalized or perishable products. Goods sold to consumers are also covered by a two-year legal guarantee of conformity.

Personal data, VAT, and accessibility

  • a GDPR-compliant privacy policy, and visitor consent for non-essential cookies
  • if your sales to private customers in other EU countries exceed €10,000 a year, the VAT of the customer’s country applies, declared through the One-Stop Shop (OSS): talk to your accountant
  • since June 28, 2025, EU accessibility requirements also apply to many online stores; microenterprises (fewer than 10 people and an annual turnover or balance sheet total of no more than €2 million) are generally exempt

This information is general and does not constitute legal advice.

Process

Building your online store: steps and timeline

A simple, transparent process: at every step, you know what’s being done, what it costs, and when it will be ready.

  1. Step 1: Free discovery call

We go over your products, your customers, your shipping options, and your budget by video call (Google Meet), or by phone if you’d rather call me.

    Free, no obligation

  2. Step 2: Detailed quote

You receive a clear quote: chosen solution, features, price excl. VAT, and timeline. Nothing starts without your approval.

    Price set before work begins

  3. Step 3: Design and development

I build your store, add your products, and set up payment and shipping. You approve it before it opens.

    Online store: 3–4 weeks

  4. Step 4: Launch and training

Your store goes live with hosting and a domain name for the first year, then I train you on how to manage it.

    Maintenance available afterward

What affects the timeline

The timeline depends mostly on the number of products to add, the features you need, and when your content is ready: photos, descriptions, terms and conditions of sale. The exact timeline for your project is given in the quote.

A tip: open an account with your chosen payment provider early on. Verifying your business can take a little time, and it’s best to have it done before your store opens.

Getting your store ready

  • Your product list (names, descriptions, prices, variants), ideally in a spreadsheet
  • Quality photos for each product
  • Your shipping zones and rates, and your pickup options
  • The payment methods you want to offer
  • Your terms and conditions of sale, your return policy, and your legal notice
  • Your logo and colors

FAQ

Common questions about online stores

Have another question? See the full FAQ or call +32 456 96 02 13.

How much does an online store cost?

An online store starts at €2,700 excl. VAT with PrestaShop or WooCommerce. This price includes building the store (product catalog, cart, payment, and order tracking), launch, hosting and a domain name for the first year, plus training on how to manage your store. A fully custom-coded store, designed around the way you sell, is priced on quote. The final price depends on the number of products, the features, and the content to add: it’s set in a free quote. On top of that, plan for the payment provider’s fee, which is taken from your sales.

Custom-coded store, WooCommerce, or PrestaShop: which should I choose?

I prefer a custom-coded store: it follows exactly the way you sell (checkout flow, pricing rules, customer accounts, sales between users) and stays lightweight, with no unnecessary modules. WooCommerce and PrestaShop are still good alternatives for a standard catalog: WooCommerce, the WordPress online store plugin, if you want your store and a content site in one place; PrestaShop, built entirely for online retail, if your catalog has lots of products and variants. We choose together during the discovery call, before the quote.

Can I accept Bancontact in my store?

Yes. Payments go through a payment provider connected to your store: together, we pick one that offers Bancontact and credit and debit cards, based on your needs and its fees. The account is opened in your company’s name, and the provider charges a fee on transactions.

How long does it take to build an online store?

Typically, allow 3–4 weeks. The timeline depends mostly on the number of products to add, the features, and when your content is ready (photos, descriptions, terms and conditions of sale); the exact timeline is given in the quote. A more complex platform, such as a marketplace, has no standard timeline: it’s set in the quote, depending on the project.

Who writes my store’s terms and conditions and legal notice?

Their legal content is your responsibility: have them drafted or reviewed by a lawyer, your trade association, or your accountant. On my end, I add them to the store, make sure customers accept them before paying, and set up the order confirmation emails.

Can I manage my products and orders myself?

Yes. You add products, change prices, track inventory, and process orders from your store’s dashboard. Training on how to manage your store is included. For updates and improvements, maintenance can take over (€50 excl. VAT per hour, or €500 excl. VAT per year).
