Background

My journey as a web developer

I trained in web development at BeCode, where I learned the different programming languages of the web. Since then, I’ve worked as a full-stack PHP web developer, handling both what your visitors see (the design, the pages, the forms) and what runs behind the scenes (the server, the database, online bookings, or payments).

After a range of projects, both at agencies and as a freelancer, I came back to my first passion: helping independent professionals and small businesses with their online presence. My specialty is high-performance, custom-coded websites, from a simple business website to a booking platform.

I work from La Louvière, in Hainaut, and remotely, with Belgian and international businesses, as far away as the United States. Whatever the project, the rule stays the same: clear explanations, technical choices that fit your budget, and, after launch, training on how to use your site, then maintenance if you’d like.

  • Clear pricing

    Starting prices shown on the site, excluding VAT, and a detailed quote before we start: you know exactly what you’re paying for.

  • Honesty about Google

    Every site is built to be well understood by Google: headings, text, speed, mobile display. But no one can honestly guarantee the top spot, and I won’t promise it to you.

  • Your content is yours

    Your content and your domain name belong to you. The ownership terms for the site itself (code, licenses for third-party themes and plugins) are set out in the quote. If you ever switch providers, I’ll give you the access you need.

  • Your independence

    Training on how to use your site is included at handover, to help you manage your everyday content yourself. On a custom-coded site, what you can edit is defined in the quote; with WordPress, you edit your own text and photos.

  • Careful work

    A mobile-friendly site that loads fast and is structured to be well understood by search engines from the day it launches.

  • Clear explanations

I choose the tool to fit your project, not the other way around. Here are the ones I use every day, and what they do for you.

  • PHP and Laravel

    The language behind my custom-coded sites, and the Laravel framework for web apps: online booking, client portals, marketplaces.

  • HTML5 and CSS3

    The structure and layout of every site: a clear heading hierarchy for Google and a display that adapts to mobile.

  • Tailwind CSS

    For custom designs that stay consistent from page to page and load fast.

  • JavaScript

    For interactivity on the page: menus, forms, photo galleries.

  • MySQL

    The database that stores your content, your products, your bookings, or your customer accounts.

Based in Hainaut, I serve La Louvière, Binche, Soignies, Mons, Charleroi, Braine-le-Comte, Nivelles, Tubize, Ath, Enghien, Louvain-la-Neuve, Brussels, and Liège. Elsewhere in Belgium or abroad, everything is done remotely.

Who bills you?

I don’t have an office: I work from La Louvière and remotely, and my services are billed by Productions Associées asbl, the organization my business operates under (company number BE 0896.755.397). In practice, you receive a detailed quote, then a proper invoice issued by this organization, payable by bank transfer. Your point of contact, however, stays the same: I’m the one who works with you from the first call to launch.

Who is Tristan Tacule?

I’m a freelance web developer based in La Louvière, in Hainaut, Belgium. I trained in web development at BeCode and have worked as a full-stack PHP developer ever since. I build custom-coded business websites, online stores, and web applications for independent professionals and small businesses, in Belgium and abroad.

What technologies do you use?

I prefer custom code: PHP and the Laravel framework, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and Tailwind CSS, with MySQL and Git. When a tighter budget calls for it, I also use WordPress and WooCommerce, or PrestaShop for an online store. I choose the tool to fit your project and your budget, not the other way around.

What happens after my site goes live?

I train you on how to use your site, so you can manage your everyday content yourself. Your content and your domain name belong to you; the ownership terms for the site itself (code, licenses for third-party themes and plugins) are set out in the quote. If you’d like, I can then maintain your site: €50 excl. VAT per hour for one-off work, or an annual plan at €500 excl. VAT per year.
